Business software ends where the screen ends. Agents are there to cross that line: small programs that live on a machine and do there whatever the assistant decides.
Where they can run
On a Windows or Linux PC, on a Raspberry Pi, on an Android phone, inside the browser. They all speak the same language, but each one declares for itself what it can do: the list never promises things that machine doesn’t have. You won’t find the Windows registry on a Raspberry Pi, and that’s fine.
What they can do
Install and update programs, read USB ports, control smart-home devices, speak through the speakers, show a full-screen alert, read a car’s control unit. A Raspberry Pi behind the counter prints receipts and opens the cash drawer.
How they pair
With a code. From then on the device appears among yours, and you decide which actions it can take — one at a time, not all at once.
No data stays there
The agent carries out the task and reports back. Everything about your business stays in your SoWay: if you pull the plug, the machine takes nothing with it.
